BU X KCC organize “THE PHENOMENON OF K-CULTURE”

 

Bangkok University in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand organized an event to promote Korean culture under the name "THE PHENOMENON OF K-CULTURE". Asst. Prof.Dr.Somyot Wattanakamolchai, Vice President for International Affairs, gave the opening speech and welcomed 
Mrs. Sunju Lee, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand, who gave a special lecture on "Onggi, Korean Pottery and Fermentation Culture" for participants to learn about the unique food preservation culture of Korea.

 

 

The event also featured a highlight exhibition, "Pottery: Vessels of Time, Preserving the Wisdom of Two Lands", which traced the history and importance of pottery in Korean culture at the Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum, and a K-Pop Cover Dance Competition, that attracted many contestants and audiences.

 

 

Additionally, the event was packed with various activities promoting international competency development, providing students with direct experiences through interesting activities to learn about Korean culture, such as a traditional Kimchi-making workshop led by a Korean chef, a modern live Korean music performance by students from the BUIMC club and K-Pop Cover Dance Showcase by students from the BUIDC club, booths offering delicious Korean food in various menus, learning about Korean traditional games, a booth introducing Korean tourism, an exhibition of Korean cartoon drawings from WebToon, a booth providing consultation on studying in Korea (Exchange Program), and photo booths with Korean traditional costumes and Korean student uniforms. This event was held at the spiral staircase hall and activity hall on the 1st floor of the Surat Library (Building C6), Bangkok University.
