The second section requires your educational background and if the name of your school doesn’t show in the “Name of school/College/University” please click “Other” and fill in the name of the school.
The cumulative grade point average is based on a 4-point system.
To convert from a grade to point based system, use the following reference:
A 4.00
A- 3.67
B+ 3.33
B 3.00
B- 2.67
C+ 2.33
C 2.00
C- 1.67
D 1.00

Application requirements:
The “High School Diploma”, or equivalent, and “Official Transcript” section are mandatory.
- Files can be uploaded in png, pdf or jpg format
- File size is limited to 5 MB

The ETC section refers to optional uploads to support your application.

We recommend that you attach any English proficiency scores in this section.

Once you have attached a High School diploma and Official transcript, please check your email as the application is forwarded automatically.
If you have received an "Application for Foreign Student " email you don’t need to do anything else at this stage and can close the admission page.

After this time you will receive a second email with information such as acceptance/rejection, payment instructions, and any testing (English proficiency) that may need to be done.
English Proficiency Score Information.
For application purposes, test scores are considered valid for 2 years
If you are a native English speaker or have a score at or above the list below, you will be exempt from writing the English proficiency test.
- TOEFL 500 PBT, 173CBT, 61 IBT
- IELTS 5.0 in all skills
- SAT 1,000 in both Critical Reading and Mathematics sections
- Duolingo English Test (DET) score 80 in all subscore
**For the academic year 2025 onwards**
- TOEFL iBT score of at least 61
- IELTS score of at least 5.0 in all bands
- SAT score of at least 500 in both Verbal and Math
- PTE score of at least 43
- Duolingo score of at least 80 in all skills
- TU-GET Computer-based score of at least 61 or Paper-based score of at least 500
- CU-TEP score of at least 70
- British Council English Score of at least 400
- BU Placement Test Online score of at least 35 or Paper-based score of at least 60
English Proficiency Test
If you take the English proficiency test and fail, you can take the Preparatory English Course - PEC (fees apply). Upon passing the PEC you will be immediately accepted into the Bangkok University International program.

Please note that this web information is directed towards mail applicants, versus online applicants, but the language requirements are the same.
Once administration has reviewed your documentation you will receive an email to confirm your application and if any other documentation or information needs to be submitted.
Once your application is approved, you can go to the “payment” section (#4) and pay by QR code, Visa, or Mastercard on the fourth option on the website.
Once paid you can double check your payment status on section #5 (on the left hand side) of the application page.
