Menu & Table Setting Design Competition for Sustainable Restaurants with Marriott Marquis

On March 13, 2024, Bangkok University International students were given an exciting project-based assignment by Mr. Pattarawut Amornvech, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage – Empire Tower, from the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park team via a live MS Teams meeting. The task was to design a menu and table setting for a sustainable restaurant offering casual-fine dining.

This collaborative project involved students from two programs: CDI (Culinary Arts and Design) and ITHM (International Tourism and Hospitality Management). CDI students, enrolled in CDI230 Basic Design Skills for Food & Beverages, were responsible for menu design, while ITHM students, taking THI333 Food & Beverage Operations, handled the table setting to complement the designed menu.

On May 8, 2024, Mr. Pattarawut Amornvech, returned to judge the students' final presentations at BU Restaurant. Both programs showcased their creative and practical skills, providing students with invaluable real-world experience in integrating design and hospitality management.
