Bangkok University Showcases Academic Potential at National SoTL10 Conference, Prepares to Host Next Edition in 2026

Executives and Faculty from Bangkok University participated as speakers, moderators, and workshop leaders at the 10th Academic Conference on "Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: SoTL10" held on July 3-4, 2025, at Thammasat University, Rangsit Center, under the theme "Frontier of Learning Innovation: Exploring Emerging Trends and Practices."

The event featured diverse academic activities including special lectures, presentations, academic panels, workshops, and educational technology exhibitions, with Bangkok University playing a prominent role in multiple activities.

Academic panel on "Pathways to Potential: Redefining General Education for Lifelong Success" featuring Associate Professor Dr. Surin Haimsrikrod, Vice Rector of Walailak University, and Associate Professor Dr. Manasnan Hatthaksa, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning at Kasetsart University, moderated by Dr. Jiraporn Kerdchoochuen, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs at Bangkok University.


Academic panel on "Machine Learning for Student Retention" featuring Ajarn Piya Warabuntaweesuk, Director, Platform Development Office, Bangkok University; Ajarn Wichukorn Kuntintara, Platform Development Office, Bangkok University; and Dr. Jirapipat Thanpongphat, Lecturer at Chiang Mai University, moderated by Dr. Chutikorn Nopparata, Lecturer at Srinakharinwirot University.


Academic panel on "Engaging and Effective Learning: Experiences with Gamification and Game-Based Learning in the Classroom" featuring Assistant Professor Dr. Wacharee Katesapichayanon from the Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University; Dr.Phattanapon Rhienmora, Dean, School of Information Technology and Innovation, Bangkok University; and Asst. Prof.Dr.Kingkarn Sookhanaphibarn from the Center of Specific Innovation (CoSI), Bangkok University, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Kritika Tanprasert from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi.


Workshop on "Virtual and Augmented Reality in Education" conducted by Ajarn Kulachet Lekprayura, Director, Learning Development Office, Bangkok University, sharing knowledge about implementing virtual reality and AR technologies in teaching and learning.


Bangkok University, represented by Assoc. Prof.Dr.Natthaphob Nimpitiwan, Vice President for Research and Educational Innovation Development, received the ceremonial flag to host the next conference, elevating the role of private higher education institutions in national academic forums. Bangkok University announced its readiness to host SoTL11 in 2026, reflecting the university's potential as a leader in learning innovation and sustainable teaching and learning development.
