Admission Requirements:

1. Open for Thai and international applicants who hold a master's degree in relevant fields or equivalent, or possess relevant work experience, which will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

2. Proficiency in English is required. Applicants must submit standardized English proficiency test scores such as TOEFL 550 PBT (CBT: 213, IBT: 80), IELTS 6.5, or Duolingo English Test (DET) 100 in all subscores. The evaluation will consider language test scores, academic background, and work experience.

Note: Applicants without existing English proficiency test scores can take the university's internal English proficiency exam.

Qualifications of Applicants are as follows.

An applicant at the doctoral degree level must be a holder of a master’s degree or equivalent in any field from a local or an overseas educational institution accredited by the Commission on Higher Education, with an excellent academic record.

Application Documents

1) A completed application form
2) A copy of the official transcript
3) A copy of ID / Passport
4) Letter (s) of recommendation on work experience (if any)
5) English-language proficiency test score report:  (result is valid for 2 years)

TOEFL minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or  80 (iBT) or

IELTS: 6.5 across each band or 

Duolingo English Test (DET) : 110 in all subscore 

 

Admissions Criteria

1) Oral Entrance Examination* (Oversea Applicants, online interview or teleconference may also be required by the Committee for more
information)
2) An applicant at the doctoral degree level must submit a TOFEL minimum score of 550 (PBT) or 213 (CBT) or  80 (iBT) or IELTS: 6.5 across each band or Duolingo English Test (DET) : 110 in all subscore 

3)Any applicant who has not obtained the required score, is required to pass an English Professional Test from Bangkok University (BU-EPT)

4)The English proficiency test is waived for applicants who are native speakers of English

5) Applicants should have a statement of purpose/ an essay describing the applicant’s goal in applying to the program             

6) An applicant at the doctoral degree level may be required to present other qualifications, i.e. research competency or specialized professional experience

Selection is based on academic records, work experience, standardized English language test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test), or the university's internal English proficiency test, and performance in the knowledge assessment test.

  • Applicants submit their applications and supporting documents, including their resume/CV, two letters of employment certification, and evidence of English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or the university's internal English proficiency test). The initial evaluation is done based on the submitted documents. Applicants who meet the qualifications proceed to the interview stage.
     
  • The interview panel assesses candidates based on their research interests, work experience, and study objectives. Applicants are required to fill out a form detailing the topics or areas they are interested in researching. This information is distributed on the day the interview list is announced and is used as a basis for the interview assessment.
