Sustainable Community Workshop Empowers Nawatwithi Khlong 3 Community #2

Bangkok University with support from EISA (Education Institute Support Activity) under the operation of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, organized the "Sustainable Community Workshop: Building a Sustainable Business Foundation for the Khlong 3 Community" at the Khlong 3 Innovative Community, aimed at comprehensively strengthening the capacity of the community enterprise.

This activity is part of the Academic Service Project for the Development of the Khlong 3 Innovative Community, now in its second consecutive academic year. Development is divided into two main areas: sustainable tourism development and product development for a sustainable community enterprise. This workshop falls under the second group, focusing directly on elevating community products and businesses.

Asst. Prof.Rapeepan Wongprasert, Associate Dean School of Business Administration, Bangkok University, stated the objectives of the event: "To transfer business, accounting, and legal knowledge to the community, while encouraging faculty and students to participate in community development through building a collaborative network between the university, government agencies, the private sector, and the community, in order to elevate the grassroots economy toward sustainable growth."

K.Pawinee Chaiyasit, Managing Director of Roo Rak Samakkee Social Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd., spoke about the goals of this activity, stating that "We jointly drive the exchange of information on the potential and operational challenges of the community, in order to develop a One Day Package tourism route and promote banana processing to increase the value of community produce. The success arising from the collaborative efforts of 5 sectors — which have worked together to expand trade opportunities, develop products, enhance the added value of goods, and connect markets — is aimed at strengthening grassroots economic development and sustainably improving the quality of life for people in the community."

The event was honored by expert faculty members from 4 faculties, sharing practical knowledge with 20 community members across the following key topics:

- Developing sales channels via the Shopee platform — School of Business Administration
- Creating a Line Official Account — School of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration
- Intellectual property law for protecting community products and brands — School of Law
- Recording income and expenses — School of Accounting

K.Rungnapa Kaewthum, President of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, Khlong 3, said: "Community members who participated in this workshop all shared the same sentiment — having the faculty team from Bangkok University come to share knowledge directly in the community is incredibly valuable. It opens the door for people of all ages to access business knowledge at no cost, especially for elderly members of the community who would otherwise rarely have the opportunity to receive such knowledge elsewhere."

This initiative reflects Bangkok University's mission as "The Creative University" — bringing classroom knowledge into the community to create tangible, positive impact and support community enterprises in achieving long-term, sustainable growth.
