Cyber Evidence & AI Forensics Day 2026: Strengthening Knowledge Armor Against Cybercrime

the collaboration of Bangkok University, Cyber Forensic and Investigation Company Limited (CFI), and Paiboon Law Firm Limited (P&P Law Firm),

When cyber threats in the form of cybercrime are closer and more frightening than we think, creating knowledge, understanding, and awareness about cybercrime is essential to help us protect ourselves and organizations from cyber attacks. The Institute of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Training, through the collaboration of Bangkok University, Cyber Forensic and Investigation Company Limited (CFI), and Paiboon Law Firm Limited (P&P Law Firm), organized the academic seminar "Cyber Evidence & AI Forensics Day 2026."

Asst. Prof.Sansern Milindasuta, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Bangkok University, opened the event saying: "In today's world, cyber threats are very frightening threats that can impact from organizational to national levels. We encounter these problems in many areas that are complex and very difficult to manage. Bangkok University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Institute of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security jointly with P&P Law Firm and Cyber Forensic and Investigation (CFI). We have also received cooperation from world-class leading technology partners including Magnet Forensics (USA) and MSAB (Sweden) in supporting the AXIOM and XRY programs. This collaboration leads to cooperation that aims to develop concretely and sustainably in creating knowledge and developing personnel to respond and work together on cyber threats. It is a great opportunity to invite expert speakers to provide knowledge to relevant agencies. Because I strongly believe that in working together with diverse knowledge, we can learn and create personnel who are ready and able to help society and the nation, as well as make everyone safer from cyber threats."

The event featured special lectures including: "AI-Era Computer Crime and Data Breach Issues" by Police Colonel Suraphong Plengkham, Secretary-General of the Personal Data Protection Committee; a special lecture on "The Future of Cybercrime Battleground and Digital Investigation in Thailand" by Lt. Gen. Siripong Timula, Former Commander of the Information and Communication Technology Office, Royal Thai Police; a lecture on "Technology for Analyzing and Verifying Photographs, Video Clips, and AI-Generated Media for Use as Digital Evidence" by Dr. Amonrat Lekwichai from the Forensic Science Institute, Ms. Duangsamorn Chudeejan from the Department of Special Investigation, A. Paiboon Amornpinyokiat, and A. Nattapong Limdaengsaku; and a lecture on "The Role of the Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity Training Institute (DFCT), Bangkok University, in Combating Cybercrime in Thailand" by A. Paiboon Amornpinyokiat, Electronic Law Expert at P&P Law Firm, A. Nattapong Limdaengsaku, Managing Director of Cyber Forensic and Investigation (CFI), and Asst. Prof.Dr.Aunya Singsangob, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Bangkok University.

A. Paiboon Amornpinyokiat, Electronic Law Expert at P&P Law Firm, stated at the event: "We must admit that AI has many impacts. Recently, we've found AI news in 2026 quite intense with attacks through AI. Therefore, today's crime is much closer to us - fake Line accounts, identity fraud. From the AI perspective, it creates quite a lot of problems. Bangkok University has opened training courses to prevent three main problems: First, who commits offenses using AI? How to verify who they are if damage occurs? Second, technology - nowadays when sending [content], it must be indicated that it's AI. What does the technology for verifying fakes look like? And third, how to claim rights, file reports, and prosecute - ultimately the courts must consider how credible the evidence is. This seminar promotes exchange and knowledge transfer among experts to enhance in-depth analysis skills and management of complex evidence."

A. Nattapong Limdaengsaku, Managing Director of Cyber Forensic and Investigation (CFI), stated: "AI is used in every industrial sector, used for data analysis. AI plays quite a significant role and impact in our daily lives as a tool that helps you create images, find various images. But the important prohibition is: do not use AI for decision-making - this is a major prohibition. Not everything that AI can generate and analyze is accurate and precise."

The Institute of Digital Forensics and Cyber Security is ready to aim toward becoming a central hub as a Center of Excellence in Digital Forensics, Cyber Law, and Cyber Security for Thailand. The institute aims to develop personnel, government officials, students, and the private sector in driving future skills and elevating the country's capabilities to sustainably combat cyber threats.
