Challenge students with a short video project, awarding educational scholarships

 

Mos Away mosquito repellent spray partnered with, Bangkok University School of Communication Arts to challenge students with a short video project, awarding educational scholarships totaling 42,000 baht to outstanding CNM student teams.

 

 

The Communication and New Media (CNM) program organized creative learning activities for first-year students to learn from real-world challenges, collaborating with Mos Away mosquito repellent spray product.

 

 

Students recieved real-world challenges by creating short video content, developing creative concepts and storytelling narratives. The assignment required producing TikTok videos under 60 seconds to showcase the "Mos Away" mosquito repellent spray brand story - "Keep mosquitoes away, stay mosquito-free." The competition attracted over 800 students in 90 teams from the Art of Storytelling course.

 

 

The Mos Away Short Video Competition kicked off with detailed briefings led by K. Nan  Mangkorn, Digital Marketing Manager  who presented product information, alongside K. Witoon  Kanokthippornphai, Special Lecturer from the School of Communication Arts, who shared the competition framework. Students received a 2-week production timeline and comprehensive support from over 20 faculty members and industry experts to help craft compelling stories aligned with the product. The program also featured specialized workshops on "Creating Viral TikTok-Style Short Videos," facilitated by Ajarn Dirok  Thongmee and Ajarn Kanyarat  Phraerabam.

 

 

On the award announcement day, over 90 student teams submitted their video entries to the competition. After the selection process, 7 teams were shortlisted as finalists, and all 7 teams presented their short video productions at Diamond Hall, 5th Floor, Building A3, Bangkok University.

 

 

The judging panel from Mos Away included K.Nonthasak  Ketkham (Senior Brand Manager), K.Thitipong  Khunpithak (Assistant Brand Manager), K.Nan  Mangkorn (Digital Marketing Manager), and K. Withoon Kanokthippornchoi (Special Lecturer, Digital Marketing expert at School of Communication Arts, Bangkok University).

 

 

Competition Results:

The 1st Prize: Team Unicorn - 15,000 baht scholarship + Mos Away products

The 2nd Prize: Team "Khoytang" - 10,000 baht scholarship + Mos Away products

The 3rd Prize: Team "Kao Mai Tem Sip" - 5,000 baht scholarship + Mos Away products

4 Honorable Mention Awards, 3,000 baht each plus Mos Away products

 

 

This competition activity was part of the Art of Storytelling course in the Communication and New Media program. Students had opportunities to learn and practice with real challenges, developing storytelling skills, gaining social knowledge about health care and mosquito bite prevention, while learning marketing communication.

 

 

Throughout the academic year, the Communication and New Media program continues to organize various activities and projects with alumni cooperation from the creative media industry, providing real challenges and guidance in media production to help students develop themselves and step into the future media industry.
