3 BU Instructor Earn Prototype Micro-Credential Certifications, Elevating Thai Education into the Digital Era Under the New Graduate Production Project

By receiving accreditation for the 1st cohort of the Micro-Credential prototype curriculum under the "New Generation Graduate" project

Congratulations to three Instructor members from School of Information Technology and Innovation and School of Engineering, on receiving certification in the 1st Cohort Prototype Micro-Credential Curriculum — a national initiative aimed at reforming Thai higher education to meet the demands of the digital age.

The program was organized by ETS and 4LifelongLearning at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with a network of 24 universities across the country spanning diverse academic disciplines, under the support of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OPS-MHESI) through the New Graduate Species project. The initiative focuses on strengthening the capacity of higher education faculty in designing Micro-Credential curricula based on the Constructive Alignment framework.

Data Storytelling for Business Decisions — by Asst. Prof.Sirinthorn Cheyasak, Chairperson, Computer Science and Information Technology Department, School of Information Technology and Innovation. It leverages AI to rapidly summarize key insights from large datasets, while building storytelling techniques that turn complex data into targeted strategies, enabling confident business solution presentations.

Machine Learning for Business Decision Makers: The Classification Workflow — by A.Niracha Chaiwong, Instructor in the Computer Science, School of Information Technology and Innovation. This course focuses on building professional classification prediction models using Scikit-learn, covering foundational Machine Learning workflows for learners with a Python & Pandas background. It transforms participants from report writers into designers of customer behavior prediction models (Churn Prediction), with in-depth coverage of model evaluation metrics applicable in real-world business contexts.

Data Analysis for Improving Picking Processes through Simulation Games — by Dr.Tantikorn Pichpibul, Instructor in Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Data Science, School of Engineering.

This course is designed to develop data analysis skills for improving order picking processes through simulation-based learning in a warehouse context. Learners will use data generated during gameplay to analyze problems, experiment with adjusted workflows under identical conditions, and observe how outcomes shift as a result of process improvements.

The learning approach emphasizes helping students recognize the connections between data, work processes, and real-world outcomes — going beyond purely theoretical analysis. Learners will practice observing, experimenting, analyzing, and reflecting on results drawn from in-game experiences, with the goal of applying data-driven process improvement concepts to other work contexts with similar characteristics.

The success of these three faculty members reflects Bangkok University's commitment to developing curricula that meet the demands of the modern workforce, and marks a significant step in driving a new learning ecosystem that sustainably produces highly competent graduates and skilled professionals for Thailand.
