BU Student Selected as One of YSBEA Representatives with International Youth Experience

Congratulations to Bet Narubet Rakwijit, an Academic Excellence and Management, International Program (BU International), and the Student Union President for 2024.

Congratulations to Bet Narubet Rakwijit, an Academic Excellence Scholarship student from the School of Entrepreneurship and Management, International Program (BU International), and the Student Union President for 2024. Bet has been selected to participate in the YSBEA 2024-2025 (Youth Sounding Board EU-ASEAN) project.

Let's get to know Beth through his experiences, as he believes that The most important thing in living is knowing yourself. "The experience I want to share is about being selected to be part of the YSBEA 2024-2025 (Youth Sounding Board EU-ASEAN) project as a member of the first Youth Sounding Board for the European Union in ASEAN. My first mission was to attend a representative meeting in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. I participated in high-level discussions with EU-ASEAN ambassadors and the ASEAN Secretariat. The mission aims to strengthen cooperation between the EU and ASEAN, as well as provide opportunities for ASEAN youth to participate in policy-making and cooperation programs. The main goal is to empower young people to shape the future of EU-ASEAN relations."

Bet continues, "I focus on creating positive impacts in education and health. I'm very excited because this is the first committee for this project, and I'm the first representative from Thailand. After this mission, I will continue to play important roles over the next 1-2 years, including representing in policy development between the EU and ASEAN, as well as being a voice for Thailand at the international level."

First Experience in Indonesia

"This project allowed me to gain new experiences. The first thing I noticed here is the similarity to Thailand in terms of sunlight and temperature. The second thing I couldn't miss trying was Ayam Goreng, Indonesian fried chicken with a fragrant and unique spice flavor - I highly recommend it. Another thing that made me feel good from the start was how kind and friendly the Indonesian people are, making it easy to adjust. Learning and adapting to the environment and daily life here is quite comfortable. I also learned greeting words like 'selamat' (pronounced 'selamat'), which means 'hello,' and 'terima kasih' (pronounced 'terima kasih'), which means 'thank you.' Similar to our greetings in Thailand, these words make you feel welcome and create a friendly atmosphere with smiles when spoken by people from different places."
