King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) collaborates with Bangkok University to develop a Joint Degree program, creating an innovative dual degree in AI Engineering and Entrepreneurship for the 2025 academic year. The program aims to nurture a new generation of AI engineers with innovation capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit.
Moving forward to reinforce the success of the joint program, they signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with 34 high schools, including Suankularb Wittayalai School, Saint Gabriel's College, Srinakharinwirot University Prasarnmit Demonstration School (Secondary), Bangkok Christian College, Assumption College Sriracha, Sarasas Witaed Saimai School, Chonratsadornumrung School, Saint Joseph Convent School, Joseph Upatham School, and Denla British School.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somyot Kaitwanidvilai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at KMITL, said, "This collaboration shares a common goal in shaping the future of education to drive Thai youth toward leadership in technology and entrepreneurship. The current national development requires technological and innovative capabilities, especially in AI Engineering, which plays a crucial role in driving industries and developing economic structures across various sectors, including manufacturing, services, agriculture, and healthcare. Meanwhile, entrepreneurial skills help youth to be creative, embrace change, and effectively leverage technology for business opportunities. The AI Engineering and Entrepreneurship (AIEE) program developed through this collaboration is vital in empowering our youth to fully utilize artificial intelligence while developing entrepreneurial skills to create value and benefits for society. We believe these young people will be a crucial force in driving the country toward innovation and business leadership."
Asst. Prof.Sansern Milindasuta, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bangkok University, said "This collaboration serves as a role model for education by combining the strengths of both institutions, including the entrepreneurial spirit from Bangkok University and engineering expertise from KMITL. Together, we're opening new learning doors, creating new knowledge, and unlocking true Engineer Entrepreneurship. We support students in entrepreneurship by developing teaching concepts adapted from Babson College, a world-leading institution in entrepreneurship. Additionally, we have partnerships with businesses and Acceleration Centers both domestically and internationally that will enhance students' knowledge and capabilities, preparing them to become graduates with business potential and develop into future entrepreneurs."
This program is pioneering educational innovation in Thailand by focusing on nurturing new-generation engineers with comprehensive skills in both AI technology and entrepreneurship. It addresses the future world's demands that emphasize innovation creation alongside business management capabilities. Students will have opportunities to learn both theory and practice from industry-leading experts, aiming to create professionals ready to become AI leaders who can confidently enter the business world.
