For those aspiring to study internationally but are unsure about their English proficiency or lack exemption qualifications or test scores, there's no need to worry. You can upscale and reinforce your English language knowledge intensively with this course.

Note: Applicants with English proficiency exam scores meeting the university's standards may be exempt from written or interview exams, based on the following criteria (test results must not be more than 2 years old):

  • TOEFL scores not lower than 500 (Paper-Based), 173 (Computer-Based), or 61 (Internet-Based)
  • IELTS average score of 5.0 or higher, with all sections not lower than 5.0
  • SAT scores not lower than 1,000 (Reading and Mathematics sections)
  • Duolingo English Test (DET) scores of 80 in all subscores
  • BU Placement Test (BU Test)

Alternatively, those who have completed education as specified by the university may be exempt from exams and foundational learning:

  • IB Diploma with a minimum grade of 4 in 5 subjects
  • IGCSE, GCSE, or GCE 'O' level exams passed in at least 5 subjects without repetition, and GCE 'A' level passed in at least 3 subjects, with a minimum grade of C in all 8 subjects
  • GED transcript scores of at least 720 for the new system or at least 3,600 for the old system

Learning Assessment: Upon completion of the course, there will be an assessment to measure fundamental knowledge, and those who meet the criteria will be eligible to enroll in undergraduate international programs.

For 2024 academic students: Upon completion, there will be a test to measure basic knowledge, and those who pass the criteria can enroll in undergraduate international programs.

For 2025 and 2026 academic students: Upon completing high school or equivalent, if the assessment scores meet the Preparatory English Course standards, you can retain the scores for up to 2 years from the certificate issuance date. You can submit the educational qualification and attach the stored scores to apply for Bangkok University's international programs.
