For those aspiring to study internationally but are unsure about their English proficiency or lack exemption qualifications or test scores, there's no need to worry. You can upscale and reinforce your English language knowledge intensively with this course.
Note: Applicants with English proficiency exam scores meeting the university's standards may be exempt from written or interview exams, based on the following criteria (test results must not be more than 2 years old):
- TOEFL 500 (Paper-Based), 173 (Computer-Based), 61 (Internet-Based)
- IELTS 5.0 overall and in all skills
- SAT 1,000 in both critical reading and mathematics sections
- Duolingo English Test (DET) 80 in all sub-scores
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) at least 43 scores
- BU Placement Test (BU Test)
Alternatively, those who have completed education as specified by the university may be exempt from exams and foundational learning:
- IB diploma holders with a minimum grade of 4 in 5 subjects.
- IGCSE, GCSE, or GCE 'O' level certificate holders with a minimum of 5 subjects and passing GCE 'A' level in 3 subjects with a total of 8 subjects. Grades must not be lower than C.
- GED scores of 720 or above for the new system or 3,600 or above for the old system.

Learning Assessment: Upon completion of the course, there will be an assessment to measure fundamental knowledge, and those who meet the criteria will be eligible to enroll in undergraduate international programs.
For 2025 academic students: Upon completion, there will be a test to measure basic knowledge, and those who pass the criteria can enroll in undergraduate international programs.
For 2026 and 2027 academic students: Upon completing high school or equivalent, if the assessment scores meet the Preparatory English Course standards, you can retain the scores for up to 2 years from the certificate issuance date. You can submit the educational qualification and attach the stored scores to apply for Bangkok University's international programs.
