General requirements
Applicants are required to submit copies of the following:
1. High school diploma or equivalent certificate
2. Official academic transcript(s)
3. English language proficiency test score (valid within 2 years) or BU Placement Test

Undergraduate / Bachelor’s Degree
Bangkok University accepts a wide range of internationally recognized qualifications, including Indian Standard XII and other global curricula.
Accepted qualifications:
A-levels and Cambridge Pre-U
Applicants may apply with:
- A minimum of 3 A-Level subjects with grades A* to E
- A minimum of 3 subjects from LRN International A-Levels with grades A* to E
- A minimum of 3 subjects from the Cambridge Pre-U examination with grades M1 or D1–D3
GED
- For exams taken before May 2017: minimum total score of 3,600.
- For exams taken from May 2017 onward: minimum total score of 720.
International Baccalaureate (IB)
- IB Diploma holders are eligible to apply.
- IB Course Results (IBCR): minimum 5 subjects, with at least grade 4 in each subject.
Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC)
BTEC Level 3 qualifications are accepted and considered equivalent to A-Level subjects as follows:
- BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma or International
Level 3 Extended Diploma:
Equivalent to three A-Levels and may be used in place of three A-Level subjects - BTEC Level 3 National Diploma or International Level 3
Diploma:
Equivalent to two A-Levels; applicants are required to provide one additional A-Level subject (or equivalent) - BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate or
International Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma:
Equivalent to one A-Level; applicants are required to provide two additional A-Level subjects (or equivalent)
Indian Standard XII Qualifications
Applicants from India are welcome to apply with one of the following:
- All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) + Migration Certificate
- All India Higher Secondary Certificate + Migration Certificate
- Higher Secondary Certificate + Leaving Certificate
- Indian School Certificate (ISC) + Statement of Marks
- Intermediate Certificate with a qualifying grade report
Graduate School / Master’s Degree
Bangkok University welcomes applications from Indian students who have completed a bachelor’s
degree and are ready to advance their academic and professional journey in an international
learning environment.
General requirements
Applicants are required to
submit copies of the following:
- Official academic transcript(s)
- Passport
- Letter(s) of recommendation on work experience (if any)
- English language proficiency test score (valid within 2 years)
- Research proposal (required for MS (ITD) – Research-Based Program only)
Admissions Criteria
Applications are evaluated holistically, taking into
account academic background, English proficiency, and overall potential.
The selection process may include:
• Online interview or oral entrance examination (for overseas applicants)
• Statement of purpose, outlining academic and career goals
• Assessment of relevant experience and achievements
Applicants who do not meet the required English proficiency may be required to enroll in the English Preparation for Graduate Studies course and successfully complete the assessment prior to graduation.

Graduate School / Doctoral Degree
Bangkok University welcomes applications from Thai and international candidates who hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field from a recognized institution. Applicants with strong professional experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Our doctoral programs are designed for individuals with strong academic foundations, research
potential, and a commitment to advanced study in a global academic
environment.

- Additional documents—such as a research proposal or evidence of research experience—may be required depending on the program.

All applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency in order to enroll in Bangkok University’s International Programs.
Applicants who do not meet the required scores may be required to enroll in an English Preparatory Program prior to commencing their studies.

Applicants may be exempted if they meet one of the following criteria or have graduated from an international or English-medium program.
- TOEFL iBT: 61
- IELTS: 5.0 (in all bands)
- SAT: 500 (Verbal and Mathematics)
- PTE Academic: 43
- Duolingo English Test: 80 (all skills)
- British Council EnglishScore: 400
- BU Placement Test: 35 (online) or 60 (paper-based)
Master’s Programs
Applicants may be exempted if they meet one of the following criteria or have graduated from an international or English-medium program.:
- TOEFL: 70 (iBT)
- IELTS: 6.0 (in all bands)
- Duolingo English Test: 100 (in all subscores)
- BU-EPT: 83
- BU-SALLC: 42
Doctoral Programs
Applicants may be exempted if they meet one of the following:
- TOEFL: 80 (iBT)
- IELTS: 6.5 (in all bands)
- Duolingo English Test: 110 (in all subscores)
- BU-EPT: 88
