Intensive Cybersecurity Training for BU-ITI Students Preparing for CTF Competition

School of Information Technology and Innovation organized a cybersecurity skills enhancement activity for students in Computer Science (CS), Computer Science - Data Science and Cybersecurity (CS-DS), and Information Technology. This activity aimed to develop security skills and prepare students for the upcoming Capture The Flag (CTF) competition.

The event was honored by Mr. Attapol  Payak, Chief Technology Officer of Cybergenics Co., Ltd., a leader in cybersecurity under G-able PCL, and Mr. Pitchaya  Morimoto, Lead Penetration Tester from Siam Thanad Hack Company, a cybersecurity expert. They provided knowledge to students about penetration testing and preparation for the Capture The Flag (CTF) competition. They also assigned cybersecurity challenges for students to practice security skills and prepare for the upcoming CTF competition, which will be held for the first time at Bangkok University soon.

Capture The Flag is a competition to find flags hidden in various challenges. Competitors must discover flags hidden in program files or datasets using various methods such as password cracking, reverse engineering, web application hacking, etc., and submit them to the judges for verification. This competition involves learning CTF challenges that require cybersecurity knowledge to solve each challenge simulates real-world scenarios.
