At Bangkok University International's Creative Communication Design (CCD) program, real-world experience doesn't wait until after graduation. Students in the ICD171 Digital Image Design course, led by Ajarn Swiss Dechprechachai and Ajarn Pornkanok Sithongsurapana and accompanied by CCD Chairperson Ajarn Vanabud Chaiprakorb, partnered with OCIIO, a premium bottled water brand known for its design-forward identity and lifestyle positioning.
Rather than a hypothetical brief, students received a professional challenge directly inspired by OCIIO's brand direction: create original bottle artwork and brand interpretations that could exist in the real marketplace. The process mirrors professional studio practice. Students researched the brand, built strategic mood boards, developed concept directions, and refined their ideas into final designs presented on production-ready templates.
The most compelling moment came at the end, when OCIIO's CEO, K. Wanchalerm, visited Bangkok University to review student work, offer professional feedback, and select the winning concept. That design will be produced as part of an actual OCIIO bottle collection, turning a classroom project into published creative work with real market visibility.
For students, the experience builds exactly what the industry demands: the ability to interpret brand identity, communicate creative decisions to clients, and refine work under professional feedback. For the CCD program, it reflects a clear conviction: that design education must go beyond software skills and aesthetic training to develop the strategic thinking, creative intelligence, and client communication skills that make graduates competitive worldwide.
