Where Creativity Meets Excellence: Bangkok University Students Compete for Exhibition at The Peninsula Bangkok

At the highest levels of business, innovation rarely starts with spreadsheets or algorithms. It begins with imagination, the ability to visualize possibilities before they become real. However, in many professional settings, the power of creative thinking is still underestimated.

At Bangkok University International (BUI), the Creative Communication Design (CCD) program is challenging that misconception by fostering one of the most vital skills for the future workforce: disciplined creative thinking practice.

A strong example of this philosophy is the ICD275 Digital Painting and Illustration midterm showcase, where 95 CCD students displayed original work for evaluation by industry professionals. From this exhibition, selected pieces were chosen for a rare opportunity: a public display at the prestigious The Peninsula Bangkok, one of the world’s most renowned luxury hotels.

The selection of artworks for exhibition at The Peninsula Bangkok was conducted in collaboration with the hotel’s marketing leadership team, led by Trintawat Karnjanakul, director of brand marketing and communications, and Pakjira Udomchairit, assistant marketing manager, ensuring that the chosen works aligned with the brand’s global standards of excellence.

The exhibition was supported by our guest collaborators from The Peninsula Bangkok, alongside our instructors, Vanabud Chaiprakorb, Arin Chartsiri, Jeffrey C. Hamilton, and Chuennapa Ratanachiwakorn.

For students, the opportunity is exceptional. The Peninsula brand is renowned worldwide for its sophisticated aesthetic, architectural grace, and careful attention to detail. Having creative work displayed in such an environment places students’ ideas in a setting linked to global hospitality excellence and cultural refinement.
