International Students

Application Instruction
To be eligible for admission, overseas students must submit a high school certificate, an original copy of the official transcript and an English proficiency test score. Applicants must complete an online application form and mail their educational credentials to BU International, Please clearly separate the application form, English test score, photos, and passport image.            

Note: All copies must be printed on A4 paper and be sure to sign each page.

Application Procedures for International Applicants

  1.  High school/equivalent - diploma/certificate/transcript for any certificates or transcripts not written in English or Thai, please submit an English translation alongside the original transcript certified by the educational institution.

  2. HND Qualification level 5 is acceptable to transfer.

  3. English-language proficiency test score report:  (results are valid for 2 years)
    - TOEFL 500 PBT, 173CBT, 61 IBT 
    - IELTS 5.0 in all skills 
    - SAT 1,000 in both Critical Reading and Mathematics sections
    - GAT English score 100 
    - Duolingo English Test (DET) score 80 in all subscore 

    *Bangkok University has a test available if you do not have a valid English proficiency test score. The English proficiency test is waived for applicants who are native speakers of English

  4. If selected, the applicant will receive a letter of acceptance from the University which can be used to request a student visa at the Thai Consulate in his/her country.
    For any certificates or transcripts not written in English or Thai, please submit an English translation alongside the original transcript certified by the educational institution.

    *Please note that international students must also obtain a “non-immigrant visa” to study in Thailand and this is a separate process that is the applicant's responsibility done after receiving the letter of acceptance.

  5. A Thai Education Visa is known as a Non-Immigrant ED Visa. This visa is for foreign students who intend to stay in Thailand for the purpose of attending a recognized full-time educational institute.

    To apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa you must be accepted by a school/university, recognized by the Thai Government, on a full-time educational course, training program, or internship in Thailand.

    To apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa, you need to supply the following documents:
    - A passport with at least 6 months validity from the planned date of arrival in Thailand
    - A completed visa application form (Known as a TM 87 form) 
    - 2 passport-sized photos (4 x 6 cm) taken within the last 6 months
    - A letter of acceptance from the school or academic institute/organization
    - Evidence of enrollment (receipts of tuition fee payments).
    - School registration documents.

    To apply for a Non-Immigrant ED Visa, you must apply at a Thai Embassy or Consulate in your home/residential country
