
School of Humanities and Tourism Management held the "Sustainable Tourism Starts Here…at Bangkok University" project to promote knowledge and understanding of sustainable tourism, while inspiring students and participants to learn approaches to conducting business with sustainability in mind from experts across the tourism and hospitality industry, covering tourism, aviation, hotel, and restaurant businesses. The event took place at Room A3-301, 3rd Floor, Building A3, Bangkok University.




The event featured special lectures on "Sustainable Tourism Best Practices" covering key issues in the tourism industry, with distinguished speakers including:

Dr. Wasana Pongsapan, Assistant Director of the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA), who spoke on "Sustainable Tourist Destination Management."

K.Aimorn Rujipattaramongkol, Director of Corporate Strategy at Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, who presented a vision on "Developing Environmentally Friendly Airports."

K.Wuttisak Pitchayakarn, General Manager of Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok, who shared management experience on "Sustainable Hotel Management."

K.Suwijak Kanghae, an alumnus of the School of Humanities and Tourism Management and owner of Royd restaurant, recipient of the MICHELIN Young Chef Award 2026, who shared his approach to running a restaurant business connected to community ways of life and the environment.


This activity was organized to build upon ideas from the Vision House project through brainstorming among alumni on making sustainable tourism and business concepts more concrete, focusing on the role of educational institutions in helping the new generation fully understand the meaning of sustainability through real experiences shared by industry experts. The event also opened a space for learning and knowledge exchange between the education and business sectors, as well as showcasing the sustainability-related work of students in the School of Humanities and Tourism Management.



In addition, the event provided an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and ask questions of the speakers closely through a panel discussion and Q&A session, helping to create new perspectives on sustainable tourism and service business development, while reinforcing Bangkok University's role in producing graduates with knowledge, social responsibility, and readiness to be a key force in driving the tourism industry toward sustainability in the future.
