Fashion Design Department, School of Fine and Applied Arts, brought 4th-year students to experience the world of fashion through the legendary brand Vivienne Westwood, with the honor of having the brand's own management team share their expertise and behind-the-scenes stories up close — connecting perspectives on fashion, culture, and community through a special talk titled "An Insight into the World of Vivienne Westwood in Connecting Fashion, Culture, and Community."

The activity was led by Asst. Prof.Dr.Thanotai Mongkolsin, faculty member of the Fashion Design Department, who brought students to take part, giving them the opportunity to learn concepts and experiences directly from the brand's management — covering fashion creation, cultural connection, and the storytelling and identity that make Vivienne Westwood unique.

Another key highlight was a visit to the "Vivienne Westwood and Jewellery" exhibition, which takes visitors through the role of jewelry as a key part of building the brand's identity, showcasing pieces that draw inspiration from history and culture — both past and contemporary — fused with a spirit of challenging British convention, one of Vivienne Westwood's defining traits. The exhibition brings together rare pieces from private collections, along with items that have appeared on the runway over more than four decades, gathered for the first time officially in Thailand. The display atmosphere is enhanced with music, catwalk imagery, wall collages, and video, taking visitors back through the stories of each era's collections and fashion shows, while opening a new perspective on Vivienne Westwood's richly distinctive fashion world. Those interested can visit the "Vivienne Westwood and Jewellery" exhibition from now until October 23, 2026, at The Event Hall, 2nd Floor, Central Chidlom.
This learning experience marks another important milestone for Fashion Design students, giving them close exposure to the concepts and creative processes of a world-renowned fashion brand — from inspiration and design process to storytelling through their work — helping broaden their perspective and build on their understanding of fashion and creativity for future application in their studies and creative work.
