Bangkok University Strengthens its Position as a Hub for Entrepreneurship and Innovation through the 4th BU x Berkeley SkyDeck Fund Hackathon 2026
Bangkok University (BU) successfully hosted the 4th BU x Berkeley SkyDeck Fund Hackathon 2026 under the theme "Green Economy for Business Innovation Projects," reaffirming its commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers.
The competition attracted more than 60 teams from leading universities across India, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Spain, Vietnam, and Thailand, creating a vibrant international platform where students collaborated to address real-world sustainability challenges through innovative business solutions. Following a highly competitive preliminary round, 13 finalist teams advanced to the two-day Grand Final held at The Auditorium, Building C6, Bangkok University Library.
Organized in partnership with Berkeley SkyDeck Fund, one of the world's most renowned university-affiliated startup accelerators, the Hackathon provided participants with an immersive entrepreneurial experience. Throughout the competition, students worked closely with experienced mentors, startup founders, investors, and industry experts to refine their ideas, validate business models, and develop impactful solutions before presenting their projects to an international judging panel.
More than a competition, the BU x Berkeley SkyDeck Fund Hackathon serves as a practical learning platform where students gain firsthand experience in innovation, startup development, teamwork, problem-solving, and business pitching—essential skills for success in today's rapidly evolving global economy.
