BU AIR x Pattaya Aviation — Airline Business Students Train Through World-Class Safety Challenges
The Department of Airline Business Management, School of Humanities and Tourism Management, organized the "BU AIR x Pattaya Aviation" project under the theme "Mission RampShield: Safety Never Sleeps" at U-Tapao Airport, Rayong Province, for students enrolled in Ramp Operations (ABM343). The project provided an experiential learning opportunity in ramp operations and aviation safety standards within a real industry working environment.

The activity gave students hands-on exposure to safety operations across actual aviation operational areas — including the ramp and cargo warehouse — through simulation scenarios and on-site field visits, referencing international safety standards such as ICAO Annex 14 and the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM), to build a thorough understanding of aviation industry operations and prepare students for professional careers.

Pattaya Aviation supported the activity by providing information and simulation scenarios, as well as offering feedback during student presentations. The activity was structured around Problem-Based Learning (PBL) combined with on-site study visits across the ramp area, control tower, and both Airside and Landside zones of the airport.

Students engaged in real operational risk management — analyzing safety scenarios and designing preventive approaches in authentic working contexts — developing critical skills essential to the aviation industry: analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, and responsibility for flight safety.

"Mission RampShield: Safety Never Sleeps" stands as an important activity enabling students to learn aviation operations and safety standards in a real-world environment through field visits and scenario-based critical thinking — building professional experience and readiness for careers in the aviation industry. This aligns with Bangkok University's Practical University concept, emphasizing real-world experiential learning alongside professional skills development for the future workforce.
