Bangkok University Upholds Songkran Tradition and Hosts the Founding Faculty Memorial Ceremony 2026

Bangkok University organized a Songkran tradition and alms-giving ceremony to welcome the Thai New Year 2026, preserving Thailand's cherished cultural heritage while bringing blessings and good fortune to all members of the university community at the start of the Thai New Year.



During the event, executives, faculty members, staff, and students joined a ceremonial water-pouring ritual to pay respects to "Luang Phor Phet" — formally known as Phra Phuttha Suratnamuni — a sacred Buddha image that has been revered at the university for many years, with a water-pouring blessing ceremony for elders, for good fortune and auspiciousness for oneself. located at the Tourism Tower Building (A5) Bangkok University.





This year also featured the "Founding Faculty Memorial Ceremony", held to honor the contributions of the founding faculty members who established and laid the foundations of Bangkok University. The event was graced by Dr. Thanu Kulachol, Honorary President, who offered his blessings, wishing all members of the university happiness, vitality, and the inspiration to continue creating meaningful work for the advancement of the institution.


The event was filled with warmth and goodwill, expressed through heartfelt gestures from students and staff alike. It served as a meaningful connection between the founding faculty, administrators, faculty members, and students — collectively carrying forward the spirit of "Bangkok University" from the past and present, to the future.
