CNM Empowers Next-Generation Media Communicators, Wins Rabbit Start Quickathon #5 Award with Business Model Transforming Waste into Value

Department of Communication and New Media, School of Communication Arts, sent students to participate in a real-world challenge through Rabbit Start's Quickathon #5 program, which aimed to help students develop analytical thinking and business problem-solving skills under challenging conditions within a limited timeframe.

Congratulations to Ms. Pimchanok Eksuwan, a student in the Communication and New Media program at School of Communication Arts, who received the 2nd Place Award.

The challenge theme was "Waste to Opportunity" — transforming items perceived as "worthless" into a real business. This resulted in the idea "Crop Cycle — Fruit Waste to Fruit Worth," a business model that collects rejected/QC-failed fruits from retail stores, re-sorts them, and distributes them to cafés and SMEs at affordable prices for use in various menu items. This approach reduces business costs, minimizes food waste, and creates new value for fruits that are still usable. Additionally, participating establishments receive an ESG Badge to promote sustainable circular economy practices.

We would like to thank Rabbit Start Quickathon #5 for providing this excellent program that gave students the opportunity to learn and develop the "Waste to Opportunity" concept, demonstrating that waste is not an endpoint but rather the beginning of new innovation that creates value for society and the environment.
