Fostering Professional Translators through Thai-Chinese Interpretation Competition
Bangkok University Chinese International, in collaboration with Flash Express (Thailand) Co., Ltd., organized the 2nd University Level Thai-Chinese/Chinese-Thai Translation and Interpretation Competition. The event aims to encourage students studying Chinese language from all educational institutions to develop their translation and interpretation skills while cultivating specialized Chinese language knowledge, and to promote opportunities to work with leading organizations.
The competition was divided into 2 categories: Thai-Chinese/Chinese-Thai Translation (document translation) and Thai-Chinese/Chinese-Thai Interpretation (oral translation). Applicants from various institutions were selected through preliminary online rounds, leading to the final round conducted on-site at Bangkok University.
At the awards ceremony, Mr. Wallop Singharaj, Education Partnership Expert from Flash Express Co., Ltd., presented the awards. Dr. Nithivadee Chanyaswad, Dean, Bangkok University Chinese International, delivered a welcome speech, and Ms. Siriyaporn Wonghan, Senior Education Partnership Specialist from Flash Express Co., Ltd., joined to congratulate the award recipients.
This competition required extensive practice and expertise in specialized learning skills. Special recognition goes to two students from the Chinese International College at Bangkok University who received the First Runner-up award in the Interpretation category and the Second Runner-up award in the Interpretation category.
