คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ลงนามสัญญาความร่วมมือ (MoU) กับ บริษัท วีเอ็มแวร์ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด ผู้ให้บริการระบบคลาวด์ (Cloud) และระบบสารสนเทศระดับโลก ในโครงการ VMware IT Academy ผสานความร่วมมือด้าน Cloud Computing และ Virtualization Technology โดยมี ผศ.ดร.วิศาล พัฒน์ชู คณบดีคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และคุณเอกภาวิน สุขอนันต์ ผู้จัดการประจำประเทศไทย บริษัท วีเอ็มแวร์ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด เป็นผู้ลงนามความร่วมมือ

การร่วมมือในครั้งนี้เป็นการเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาและคณาจารย์คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สามารถเข้าถึงบริการคลาวด์ (Cloud Computing) และโซลูชั่นระบบสารสนเทศเสมือน (Virtualization Technology) ของ VMware เพื่อการศึกษา วิจัย และพัฒนาศักยภาพทางเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศตามมาตรฐานสากล
นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการประสานความร่วมมือในการวิจัยและพัฒนาด้านความมั่นคงปลอดภัยทางเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ (Network Security), ระบบคลาวด์ (Cloud) ตลอดจนถ่ายทอดความรู้ด้านเทคโนโลยีระบบสารสนเทศอื่นๆ เพื่อตอบสนองการพัฒนากำลังคนด้านดิจิทัลของประเทศ
