Stepping Out of the Classroom into the Real Arena: BU-ECON Student Wins KAsset Bootcamp 2025 Championship

Congratulations to Dapper Boonyasak Dulyasakchai, a first-year student at the School of Economics and Investment, who participated in the KAsset Investment Bootcamp 2025 and won 1st place in the Team Category, receiving the K-Excellence Portfolio Management Award.

Inspiration for Joining the Program

Dapper shared his reasons for participating: "I received this opportunity from my professor, and I was determined to make the most of my time. I saw this program as a golden opportunity to learn about investment, which is an essential life skill. Additionally, I wanted to gain experience from my first year to share this knowledge with my peers later."

Intensive 4-Week Learning Journey

Dapper explained: "This project is divided into 2 main phases: The Pre-Camp phase focuses on learning investment fundamentals, including searching for information from the Stock Exchange of Thailand, using applications to efficiently track investment news, and learning from leading Fin-Influencers in the industry."

Next, during the Bootcamp phase, students join intensive workshops spanning 4 weeks, encompassing topics from basic portfolio management, asset allocation, risk assessment, to stock analysis of both local and foreign markets. There is a Portfolio Simulation competition with an initial capital of 1 million baht to train real investment decision-making skills, with the goal of accumulating 5 million baht before retirement, and ending with a presentation to the judging panel in the last week.

Outstanding Investment Strategy

As the team's presenter, Dapper clearly explained their investment approach: "Given our young age, we can take higher risks initially and handle potential financial crises that may occur in the future, before gradually reducing risk levels over time."

Strengths That Won the Judges

Dapper analyzed: "What made our team stand out was our rational investment planning—not being greedy or rushing for short-term returns, including carefully selecting investments during crisis scenarios. This reflected thoroughness and maturity in decision-making."

Valuable Experience

Dapper concluded: "This Bootcamp provided many valuable things: knowledge that can be further developed, networking with seniors, opportunities to learn from the country's leading financial experts, and hands-on experience that cannot be gained from the classroom. It's an excellent starting point for a first-year student."

Participating in KAsset Investment Bootcamp 2025 over the past 4 weeks wasn't just about learning investment theory, but about learning life, discovering one's potential, and practicing determination. Meeting financial experts—this wasn't just a competition, but the planting of seeds of inspiration that will grow into significant forces in the future finance and investment industry.
