Storytelling Masterclass & SOD Mart (ตลาดเรื่อง) — Learning Through Storytelling, a Creative Space for Real Student Work

The Film Department, School of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts, organized the "Storytelling Masterclass & SOD Mart (Story Market)" project to develop students' storytelling and creative production skills through a learning process with industry experts, hands-on practice, and public presentation of their work.

The project was built on the belief that "storytelling" is the heart of filmmaking, digital media, and contemporary creative work — not merely conveying content through images, sound, and language, but serving as a tool for creating meaning, understanding, and human connection. Developing storytelling skills is therefore considered a fundamental competency for students in film and creative media.

The project was divided into two main phases: the "Storytelling Masterclass & Workshop" and the "SOD Mart (Story Market)." The first phase consisted of learning activities through workshops and lectures from experts across multiple disciplines, under the theme "Finding Stories: Observation, Reflection, and Narrative" — guiding students to discover stories from real experience through processes of observation, reflection, and creative composition.

Students developed concepts and prototypes for storytelling works inspired by what they had learned, leading to live presentations at the SOD Mart. The event opened a creative space for students to present work in diverse formats, including Storytelling Booths, photography exhibitions, Interactive Exhibitions, performance art, film screenings, fashion shows, live events, and live music performances.

Beyond storytelling skills, the project also aimed to strengthen key 21st-century competencies — creativity, communication, collaboration, and project management — through Project-Based Learning and Experiential Learning approaches that allow students to learn from real-world experience.
