Master of Communication Arts program in Global Communication (MCA-GC) emphasizes industry-connected learning by providing students with the opportunity to work on real projects with OPPO THAI. Students analyzed the behavior and preferences of Gen Z consumers to develop communication concepts and campaigns that resonate with the digital generation.

The event featured executives from OPPO THAI, including Mr. Yu Zhang (Patrick), Operating Director, and Miss Chantra Buengbuaba, Brand Manager. They shared perspectives and assigned the challenge under the theme of “Gen Z Aesthetic Trends,” covering social media usage, fashion influences, lifestyle, contemporary culture, and communication styles that affect perception and decision-making among young consumers. Students applied their knowledge of global communication to create tangible brand strategies.

Mr. Yu Zhang explained OPPO’s products and services in Thailand and abroad, helping students understand the brand offerings. Following this, Miss Chantra Buengbuaba guided students to analyze target audience insights and develop strategic concepts to present to the OPPO THAI team. Five student groups presented their projects, demonstrating the ability to integrate consumer data, creativity, and contemporary communication perspectives.

The specific challenge required students, as members of Gen Z, to uncover insights under the topic: "How social media influences Gen Z’s aesthetic trends, including but not limited to fashion, visual styles, and popular culture content,"
and use these insights to create advertising campaigns and public relations strategies.

A highlight of the event was the close feedback from OPPO THAI representatives, who also selected the team with the most outstanding concept. This reflects the MCA-GC program’s commitment to developing new communicators with global vision, understanding of digital consumer behavior, and professional collaboration skills with industry partners. The learning process emphasizes practical application, analytical thinking, and the ability to adapt communication knowledge to the evolving media landscape.

The five participating student groups received guidance from OPPO executives, and the best project was selected for potential marketing strategy development. The winning team, Team 100+, led by Mr. Huynh Nhut Khoa, Miss Yirui Chi, Miss Marjan Ahmed, Miss Truong Thi Ha Trang, and Miss Panada Parrott, received wireless headphones as a prize.

This collaboration between MCA-GC and OPPO THAI not only enhances classroom experience but also exemplifies bridging education and industry, helping students learn from real-world challenges, understand brand needs, and prepare to work effectively in an international context.
