Beyond Excellence Masterclass: Real Learning Experience with 4 World-Renowned Experts

Event Production and MICE Management, School of Communication Arts, has collaborated with various universities and leading global organizations including teamLAB Japan, Domus Academy Italy, Instituto Marangoni Italy, and Bournemouth University United Kingdom. This collaboration is part of the Communicative English for Event and MICE (EDM500) course for the second semester of academic year 2025, organizing masterclasses for second-year students and other year levels in Event Production and Exhibition and Conference Management to learn design skills, creative thinking, and management related to the event industry from international experts, while developing communication skills and English proficiency to prepare for professional careers.

This year's masterclass lectures under "a series of Creative Talks" project were honored to feature 4 native speaker expert instructors from diverse knowledge areas, with details as follows:

Masterclass: How to reflect your brand identity through visual communication design by Daniele Colucci, Multi-disciplinary designer and Visual communication tutor, Instituto Marangoni, Italy

Masterclass: Art by teamLAB by Takeshi Yamada, teamLAB member, teamLAB, Japan

Masterclass: AI as design material by Giovanni Caruso, Program Leader Master in Interaction Design and Service Design, Domus Academy, Italy

Masterclass: More than a match: Fan-centred approaches to event design in women's football by Dr. Payam Ansari, Program Leader BA Event Management, Bournemouth University Business School

This opportunity provided an excellent experience for students, allowing them to practice and develop listening, reading, writing, and English communication skills with language experts according to the course objectives. Most importantly, students were able to study the thinking processes, design, and creation of international-level events and exhibitions simultaneously.
