The School of Entrepreneurship and Management (BUSEM) hosted the BU Mini Hackathon 2026 to promote innovation and sustainability, emphasizing the application of technology and creativity in real businesses.

BU Mini Hackathon 2026 Application for Innovation & Sustainability 

 

The BU Mini Hackathon 2026 attracted significant interest from all BU faculties and year levels, resulting in a large number of entries. A panel of judges, both within and outside the organisation, selected 10 teams from 50 to compete further in the final round and participate in workshops and coaching sessions with experts throughout the event. The finalist students presented their projects to the judging panel, led by Dr Wutnipong Warakraisawad.

The Winner: Team Hush Husk Received 10,000 THB Cash Prize Husk Husk is an air filter made from upcycled rice husk that absorbs up to 90% of pollutants. Husk Husk turns waste into treasure, saving the environment, reducing pollution, and promoting sustainability.

 

 

1st Runner-up: Team Curalocate Received 8,000 THB Cash Prize Team Curalocate invents a fall detection and prevention system for seniors, combining wearable monitoring with indoor positioning to reduce delayed emergency rescue.

 

 

2nd Runner-up: Team Park Mai Ja Received 5,000 THB Cash Prize

ParkView is an AI Smart Parking System & Dynamic Pricing platform that transforms traditional CCTV cameras into an automated revenue-generating system. It helps recover up to 30% of lost revenue from parking lots due to outdated control and pricing systems. The system leverages real-time data, license plate recognition, Cloud analytics, and Dynamic pricing to increase revenue per parking space, improve parking efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and create economic value for parking lot owners, while supporting scalability to Smart Cities.

 

 

Honourable Mention: 4 Teams Received 2,000 THB Cash Prize

Eco Junk Eco Junk was founded to repurpose used car tyres into workplace safety solutions and address the ESG reporting pressures faced by large firms. Each boot repurposes 2.5kg of tyre waste from landfill, supporting workers while contributing to environmental, social, and economic aspects of the UN SDG.

Farmora Farmora is an asset-light digital coordination platform that enables circular agriculture by connecting farmers, restaurants, collectors, and organic fertiliser producers. By integrating sourcing, scheduling, and food-waste workflows, Farmora reduces inefficiencies, cuts waste and creates stable value for all actors in the urban agri-food ecosystem.

Presented by Wittawat's team PlanTree is a CSR B2B business that connects businesses with communities, transforming abandoned land into income-generating green spaces, improving the environment, and distributing income to the community. PlanTree: Plant for the future.

ThermoBlade An innovative hot and cold gel pack that can generate its own temperature without external factors and can be adjusted to both hot and cold for convenient use, especially for athletes who are experiencing muscle soreness or injuries from sports.
