BU China–Thailand InterBiz 2026 Brings Together Thai–Chinese Leaders from the Public, Business, and Academic Sectors to Decode China's Investment Strategy and Drive Human Capital Development for the Future

Bangkok University, through the Bangkok University Chinese International College (BUCI), in collaboration with the BRI Institute for Economic and Educational Research and Development, the Thai–Chinese Silk Road Trade and Investment Association, and the Thai–Chinese Strategic Research Center under the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), organized the "BU China–Thailand InterBiz 2026" event at Bangkok University. Held under the theme "Thailand First, ASEAN Next: China's Investment Strategy" — "Establishing a Base in Thailand, Strategizing toward ASEAN" (立足泰国、布局东盟——中国企业对泰投资的战略机遇与实践路径) — the event served as an open forum for the exchange of strategic perspectives on economics, investment, and human resource development among Thailand, China, and the ASEAN region, amid shifts in the global economy, supply chain restructuring, and the rise of the digital and green economies.

Asst. Prof.Sansern Milindasuta, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, spoke about the rationale behind organizing this event, stating that the most critical factor in future competitiveness is "people." Bangkok University therefore places great emphasis on developing human capital equipped with knowledge, future-ready skills, creativity, entrepreneurial mindset, and cross-cultural competency. He emphasized that human development cannot be achieved by universities alone, but must rely on collaboration among the educational, business, public, and industrial sectors to jointly produce professionals capable of meeting the demands of the future economy.

Dr.Nithivadee Chanyaswad, Dean, Bangkok University Chinese International, added that today's business world demands knowledge derived from real-world experience far more than textbook learning alone. As a Practical University, Bangkok University aims to build a learning ecosystem that connects the university with the business, public, and social sectors — enabling students to learn from working professionals and prepare for careers spanning Thailand, China, and ASEAN. She also articulated the College's vision to serve as a mechanism for students to become a "Fast Track to Thailand, China and ASEAN" — bridging educational, business, and career opportunities across the three regions, while developing a Talent Supply Chain that links the university with employers to jointly produce professionals capable of creating value for both Thai and Chinese organizations from their very first day of study.

The event also featured panel discussions with executives from Chinese companies that have chosen Thailand as their regional base, including Lazada Thailand, Haier Energy Technology, Bestway Chuang Wei, New Sky Energy, Top Asia International Logistics, and TQL International. These leaders shared insights on investment strategies, operational experiences, regional expansion into ASEAN, the reasons behind choosing Thailand, key business challenges, and the type of talent their organizations are seeking.

Additionally, Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on human resource development were signed with four leading organizations: the BRI Institute for Economic and Educational Research and Development, the Thai–Shunde Trade Association, Myanmar Creative University, and Bestway Chuang Wei. Booth exhibitions by partner organizations were also held to foster networking among students, entrepreneurs, and business entities — creating opportunities for internships, employment, and future collaboration. Participating organizations included Haier Appliance Manufacture, AION Automobile Sales (Thailand), ICBC, Flash Express, Glamez, Artop Media, Perfect Pro Modular System, and representatives from more than 40 organizations in total.

The BU China–Thailand InterBiz 2026 event reflects the role of Bangkok University and the Chinese International College as a knowledge hub for China–Thailand affairs — expanding toward the broader region and serving as a neutral platform connecting education, business, and policy sectors to jointly develop quality human capital, build collaborative networks, and position Thailand for a pivotal role in the future regional economy.

"The future of a nation is not competed for with capital alone, but with the quality of its people, their knowledge, and their collective capacity to create new value together."
