Body Typing System: Analyzing Physique and Image with POEM Brand Owner

Fashion Design Department, School of Fine and Applied Arts, organized a "Body Typing System" workshop for the second consecutive year for 3rd-year students in course FSD322 Fashion Ethnography. The workshop was honored by the presence of Instructor Sean-Chuanon Kaisiri, Founder and Creative Director of POEM Brand, who shared knowledge over 2 full days. The activity was held on October 4 and 11, 2025, at the Cinema Room, 3rd Floor, Surat Osathanugrah Library.

This activity was conducted by Dr.Pathitta Nirunpornputta Chairperson, Fashion Design Department and Instructor Noppanun Phisuang, course instructor. This year's content was developed to be more in-depth and aligned with understanding humans in the dimensions of fashion and ethnography, covering important topics including:

  • Analysis of Body Structure (Body Typing System) in multiple dimensions
  • Relationships between body shape–personality–fashion communication
  • Reading image through cultural context and identity
  • Design that considers body diversity and inclusive design concepts

This activity provided students opportunities for hands-on practice, from observing body shapes and analyzing cases from real situations to deeply understanding human diversity - all essential skills for fashion and contemporary creative work. It also aligns with multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4: Quality Education, which promotes quality learning through experts and practical experience; SDG 5: Gender Equality, which helps cultivate respect for physical differences and gender identity, reducing beauty standard biases; and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, which creates equitable learning spaces, values diversity, and supports inclusive concepts in fashion design.

Fashion Design Department would like to thank Instructor Sean-Chuanon Kaisiri and guest speakers for profoundly sharing experience and inspiration with students.
